Lindfield URC and our members provide financial and practical support to local, national and global organisations seeking to share the love and hope of Jesus.
Started in 1991 by a group of Christians in Worthing, Turning Tides is now the biggest provider of services for single homeless people in West Sussex. Bringing together compassionate individuals and organisations who work tirelessly to transform the lives of people in our local community and to change perceptions of homelessness.
Lindfield URC supports Turning Tides to help provide a warm, safe space to listen to anyone who needs help and to provide real pathways out of homelessness. Turning Tides provides :
- Outreach teams reach out to rough sleepers and run drop in community hubs.
- Residential projects help people off the streets and support them as they rebuild their lives.
- Specialist staff work with mental health issues, trauma and addiction.
- ‘Move-on’ housing provides that much needed step towards independent living.
Lindfield URC supports the work of OM in the UK and Nepal helping to equip Christians to share God’s love with the people they meet.
Through the work of OM God uses ordinary people to reach other ordinary people with His love.
Every Christmas Lindfield URC helps to pack and collect shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children. Helping Operation Christmas Child demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.
Since 1993 Samaritans Purse has helped more than 178 million children in more than 150 countries receive an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever but also the experience of receiving Gods love through the generosity of a stranger.
