Reading Jeremiah 5: 20-31
…Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not seek justice. They do not promote the case of the fatherless; they do not defend the just cause of the poor.Jeremiah 5:28, NIV
As the prophet brings forth the word of the Lord he speaks judgement against the disobedience of the Law. Babylon will soon invade, but it is not violence, sexual immorality, or theft that Jeremiah is mentioning but the failure of justice, and loving acts to those who are struggling, it is a lack of compassion for the poor.
What does that say to us, and cause us to do?
