But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that?1 Tim 6:8, NIV
Are we content with the basics or do we ever crave more?
We like to be warm and dry, that’s a given and something we take as a need, but we also like our televisions, our spectacles, our electric light, our telephone, our… what two thousand years later do we class as what we need, and what is a real limit that we can be content with?
We have been missing being together in person, but as we enter Lent let us remember Jesus entering the wilderness, not alone but led by the Holy Spirit, and in the presence of the Father. In that place he had everything he needed.
